Illustration markers were a tool I'd heard about but had little exposure to when I first started fashion illustration. I heard professional designers and illustrators often used them, also that they were quite expensive.
I held off getting any for a few months, but once I became convinced fashion illustration was for me, and discovered the work of Spanish illustrator Arturo Elena (I am IN LOVE with his work), I decided I'd invest in some of these 'fancy textas'.
I ordered a set of 48 Prismacolor Brush-tip markers from Amazon, and it was done. No regrets whatsoever about the purchase, and I've acquired many more since then - I'm completely sold on them.
Like any new art medium, I took a while to experiment and get used to using the markers, and I'm still learning and improving now, I can only hope to one day achieve the level of Arturo Elena and other illustrators.
Below are some of my earlier marker illustrations, with an eclectic mix of themes. They're also all super-tanned, as I didn't have all the skin tones I do now ;)
