Formal Dresses

There's something so exciting about a gorgeous long dress made from luxurious fabric that makes any girl feel like a princess. While it's not practical (or affordable) to wear beautiful ball gowns often, there's nothing to stop me drawing them! Here are a few I've done recently.

This gorgeous dress was inspired by my friends Year 12 Valedictory dress. The original is a black dress by Bariano.

It has a lovely flowing silhouette with mesh panels at the front and side to give it a modern edge.

I'm a pink fan so when I illustrated the dress I thought fuschia would be more fun than black or white! I added some sparkly gold accessories to make it that much more fabulous and over-the-top. Go hard or go home!

This is the original dress in white.

I drew this dress when I was in Perth a few weeks ago visiting my mum and sister.
I'd only brought my black and grey markers so I couldn't to anything too full on.

Instead I drew a sexy and elegant lady in this slinky plunge-neckline dress... not really sure how it's staying up, but I'm not making it so let's not worry about that!

Accessorised with a leather clutch and a long, fine, diamond necklace.

This dress is my own design and has lots of structuring around the bodice and bust, with stiffened silk and fine gauzy straps.

I made it purple because I think it really suits blondes, and it's a regal and strong colour.

Accessories include a box clutch and extravagant jewelry. All are dripping in diamonds...

Dresses like these are really fun to draw, I wish I had the occasions (and funds) to wear them! Maybe one day... In the meantime, drawing will suffice.
