Big events are often exciting and inspiring, so I often feel inclined to create art based around them. These are illustrations based on some recent events. There will be many more over time :)
This first illustration was to celebrate the 4th of July. While I'm not American, I have friends in the US and great memories of celebrating their independence day with them in California, so this drawing was for them :)
It's my design, something a bit fun and crazy for celebrating :)
This is one of my favourites, my illustration for the French National Day - Bastille Day. I wanted to capture classic French style by combining some stereotypical elements (to celebrate the occasion) with an overall chic look on an elegant French lady. Also there's a cute dog, doesn't that automatically make it better?
This last illustration is of Lorde. I went to her concert at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney with one of my oldest girlfriends and we had a fantastic night. Lorde was incredible and I loved her outfit (though I didn't quite do it justice). We had crepes in the city on the way home - perfect way to top off an awesome night.
I was going to include my Socceroos/FIFA World Cup illustration in this post, as it fit the theme, but it was one of my first marker illustrations so got put in my last post instead - it can be here in spirit, or you can scroll down and pretend it's a part of this one ;)
