Life has been very full recently - of family, college, work and lots and lots of drawing - so here is a quick little post.
This look is from the Dolce and Gabbana SS15 runway. I was incredibly inspired by the collection and loved how it has gone back to traditional cultural roots, shown through the red, black, white and gold colour scheme and use of structural garments and embellishments.
I loved the juxtaposition of the soft, sheer, floaty fabric of this skirt, edged with delicate lace, with the harsh almost militaristic shape of the heavily decorated metal breastplate-corset hybrid.
The metalwork, and that in the crown and rose headpiece and elaborate earrings, allure to royalty and power, creating a strong female persona when combined with delicate feminine touches.
A strong and beautiful composition of designs,
Stay tuned as there's lots of exciting things to come soon - we've been experimenting in my illustration class... very fun!
