Hello! Long time no blog. These last few months have been pretty hectic, so here's a catch up:
Since my last post and now, I've completed my fourth trimester at university and started my fifth (part time as I do lots of other things)... I've studied some of the most influential fashion designers in history and designed my own pieces inspired by their work. I've learnt about textile and pattern design, business skills for running a fashion brand, how to cost a garment for production, how printing has evolved through history, and so much more.
I got myself an job interning with the editorial team at Vogue Australia (!!!!!!!), which was an absolutely incredible experience, and kept me busy over summer when I wasn't working crazy hours as a cocktail bartender, or working on illustration projects and collaborations.
I've been experimenting with new illustration styles (like the one pictured here). I've been trying to stay away from my 'safe' and neat style and push the boundaries a little. It's been great fun!
I turned 20! My ability to become a teen mum has left forever and I feel older but also still so young. But age is just a number and I've got way more important things to worry about. Goals to achieve, assignments to do, people to meet. But yeah, it's a thing that happened.
I'm sure I've missed a few things, and I may do some more in depth posts on pieces I've mentioned here (Vogue hehe), but that's a bit of an update, looking back, and now forward to the exciting opportunities and events that I'm sure are coming for 2016!
P.S. While my blog has been a bit neglected, my Instagram has not - as always that is the best way to stay up to date with my news, art, collaborations and life happenings! Follow me at meg_nicholson!
P.P.S. My website has had a bit of a chop.. I've tried to simplify it and make it easier to find everything... simpler store to order illustrations, read about me (if you want) and get in touch through the Hello page, and see my Instagram (which is my online portfolio) through the Portfolio tab :)
