The weeks are rushing by, I can't believe I've already been at uni for a month! Each week in my fashion illustration class we focus on a different area, week one was the figure, week two, faces, week three was legs, and the use of illustration markers (yay!).
For the faces we analysed the proportions of the head, and ways of illustrating it from different angles. These are a couple of my sketches from week two. The first is inspired by Penelope Cruz, The central sketch by Cara Delevingne, and the third very loosely by Blake Lively.
These first two illustrations were based loosely of the SS15 Dolce and Gabbana runway, and clearly demonstrate the two styles of marker colouring. After adjusting to the new style, I now prefer the dramatic, loose effect of the second sketch.
So these were my sketches from the last couple of weeks, I haven't had time for many personal works, but I don't mind, as I love doing these just as much! I do have a new painting commission I'll be starting soon, and I've just bought tickets to the UTS fashion show later this month - very exciting, it will be my first fashion show and I'll definitely be doing some sketches of my favourite looks from the night! So keep an eye out!
