A few weeks ago I went to the races for the first time. It's always been something I've wanted to do; to get dressed up, go out with friends and spend a festive day outside in the sun.
There were six of us who went, three guys and three girls. We had a lovely time (despite my having to leave early to go to work...), we drank a lot of champagne and watched the horses go by.
Naturally I spent a fair amount of time looking at all the great (and not-so-great fashion) that was worn on the field.
This was my outfit for the day: I wore a vintage black dress with a classic floral pattern, a champagne/gold rose fascinator by Embellish Atelier (who I interned with earlier this year), strappy nude stilettos (which brought out the beige in the floral pattern) and a black satin clutch (unfortunately I didn't have a nude one to match my shoes).
I wore pearl stud earrings, my gold Michael Kors watch and a simple gold chain necklace with a monogram pendant. I had a light beige pashmina to ward off the afternoon breeze and borrowed my friend Connor's sunglasses...
I always relish a chance to get dressed up (read: to wear ridiculous shoes!) and my day at the races was one to remember - bring on the next time!
On a side note I want to thank my followers on Instagram: I've reached 1000 followers and am so appreciative of the praise and support you give me and my work; so thank you!
