Usually when an award show, celebrity ball or other red carpet event occurs I content myself with choosing five or so looks to illustrate... with this years Golden Globe Awards, which took place on the 11th of January, I couldn't restrain myself and initially chose thirteen of my 'favourite' outfits. I cut this down to ten, though I still think its a bit of overkill... but what can I do? It's my passion and there were truly stunning, innovative and classic looks scattered across the carpet. I believe I chose a selection of all of these and have I broken my illustrations up into two sets; Bright and Bold and Glittering Globes.
So without further ado, here they are:
Bright and Bold features a combination of striking new takes on classic designs as well as bright colours and show-stopping patterns.
From Left to Right:
Lorde in Narciso Rodriguez; a beautiful structured blazer and tailored trousers given a modern twist with a geometric crop and pointed pumps.
Rosamund Pike in a gorgeous flowing Vera Wang number: feminity with an edge, with its contemporary cutout bodice and triangular strapping.
Leslie Mann in KAUFMANFRANCO: yellow is my favourite colour so there was no way I could go past this classic fitted dress in statement canary yellow.
Katherine Heigl looking stunning in Zac Posen. I have a thing for blondes and navy, it's a combination that always seems to work. The dress was perfect for her, flattering in every way. (This illustration also marked my first celebrity attention - Katherine Heigl liked it on Instagram! Very exciting!)
Lupita Nyong'o wore a lovely gown with an embellished bodice by Giambattista Valli, it makes me think of Jacaranda and Wisteria trees.
Glittering Globes speaks for itself, featuring beautiful looks that are covered or accented with sequins, crystals or glittering embroidery.
Kate Hudson and Emma Stone were many peoples picks for best dressed at this years Globes, and its not hard to see why. Kate wore a beautiful white dress by Atelier Versace featuring side cutouts overlaid with fine, crystal covered straps. Emma wore a tailored Lanvin jumpsuit with a glittering embellished bodice and a statement sash that added sophistication and formality to the look. She finished the outfit off with fantastic pointed Christian Louboutin pumps, so another win there. Also her hair is fantastic.
Dakota Johnson wore an amazing Chanel dress, a shining metallic couture piece.
Kate Beckinsdale looked absolutely amazing, practically glowing in her figure-flattering Elie Saab gown. The sparkling bodice added the perfect amount of drama to the look.
Reece Witherspoon wore an incredible dress by Calvin Klein Collection, simple design but completely coated in crystals.
So these were my 'few' favourites from the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, check out the photos of the looks below. As always feel free to leave any comments and feedback in the section below :)
